Tanning ledge

A tanning ledge, also called a sun shelf, sits only a few inches under water. It is a nice place for chairs, toddlers, and sun. It does not change the way the pool circulates by much.

Because it is shallow and warm, it can collect algae and dirt faster. Brush it with the rest of the pool. A ledge may have its own return jets, so make sure those flow well. Supervise children close to water at all times.
