A pool filter catches dirt and fine particles as water moves through the circulation system. Marina Pool Services cleans, repairs and replaces cartridge, DE and other residential filters in Grapevine and nearby Northeast Tarrant County. We inspect your filter and recommend the service it actually needs.

How do you clean a cartridge filter?
For a cartridge filter, Marina removes the cartridge and cleans out the dirt, debris and fine particles. We inspect it for damage or wear while it is out. A clean cartridge keeps water flowing and helps your filtration work as it should. A worn cartridge may need replacing. Marina cleans the cartridge on site and checks the condition of the cartridge while it is out. Cartridge filters need regular cleaning to keep water flowing.
What is DE filter cleaning and backwashing?
DE filters use diatomaceous earth, a fine media that catches very small particles. Backwashing flushes dirt out of the filter when it needs cleaning. After cleaning, Marina replaces the DE media and checks pressure and flow to confirm the filter is performing. Marina checks filter performance, including pressure and flow, after cleaning. Replacement of DE media is part of the service.
When does a filter need replacing?
Severely worn, damaged or unsuitable filters may need replacement instead of more repair. Marina inspects the filter, explains its condition, and gives you repair and replacement options. We service and install equipment from Hayward, Pentair, Jandy, Raypak and other residential systems. A filter that is cracked, leaking or beyond cleaning is a candidate for replacement. Marina will tell you what it sees.
Does the filter matter after an algae problem?
Yes. When algae builds up in a pool, there is a good chance it is in the filter as well. Cleaning the filter helps a pool recover. Marina pairs algae treatment with filter cleaning so the problem does not come back from the filter. A clean filter is also part of Marina's weekly service, where we backwash filters as needed.
Questions about pool filter service and installation
Ask us anything else: call or text (817) 896-1120.
It depends on the filter type, debris, weather and pool use. Pressure or flow changes are a good cue. Marina can clean your filter on a schedule that fits your pool, or as needed. Many owners clean cartridge filters several times a year, but the right timing depends on your pool. Marina can tell you what your filter needs.
What does backwashing do?
Backwashing reverses water flow through certain filters to flush out trapped dirt. It applies to filter types like sand and DE. Marina backwashes filters as needed during weekly service. Pressure rising above normal is the usual sign that a filter needs cleaning. Marina checks this as part of service.
Why is my filter pressure high?
A dirty filter is a common cause, but a clogged line, a closed valve or worn parts can do it too. Check the baskets, then have a pro inspect the system if pressure stays high. Marina can check the full circulation system and tell you where the restriction is.
Do you install new filters?
Yes. Marina handles filter replacement and installation for residential pool systems, and services Hayward, Pentair, Jandy and Raypak equipment. Call (817) 896-1120 to ask about a free estimate. Marina checks that the new filter suits your pump and plumbing before installing.
