Green algae
Green algae is the most common pool algae, and it turns water green and can bloom within days.
Green algae loves warm sun, low chlorine, and poor circulation. In North Texas summers, a pool can go from clear to green in a few days after a storm or missed service.
To clear it, brush every surface, run the filter, and raise free chlorine with a shock. Test cyanuric acid and pH too. Vacuum or filter out dead algae and clean the filter. If the pool does not clear after a few days, get help. Marina Pool Services offers algae treatment for green pools.
