TDLR

TDLR is the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, which licenses some pool-related electrical work.

TDLR licenses electricians and other trades in Texas. For pools, it sets who may do certain electrical jobs. TDLR has issued guidance on which pool-related electrical devices a residential appliance installer may add to an existing pool.

This matters when you add a salt system, timer, or automation. Ask the installer about the license they hold for electrical work. Check TDLR's license search if you want to confirm it. Never hire for electrical work based on a promise alone.
