Pump motor
The pump motor is the sealed electric motor that turns the impeller and drives water through the system.
The motor is the power source of your pump. It is a sealed electric motor, and it fails from heat, water leaks, or worn bearings. Signs include loud noise, tripping breakers, a burning smell, or humming without turning.
Some faults are simple, like a weak capacitor. Others, such as worn bearings or a bad shaft seal, mean repair or replacement. Always call a qualified pro for electrical work, and turn power off at the breaker before opening anything.
