Pressure gauge

The pressure gauge is a gauge on the filter that shows system pressure and signals when to clean.

The pressure gauge shows how hard the pump pushes water through the filter. Note the reading right after a clean. That is your baseline.

When the reading rises well above that baseline, clean or backwash the filter. Your manual gives the exact number. A very high reading can mean a clogged filter or closed valve. A low reading with weak flow can mean a clogged basket or air in the system. If the needle sticks or the glass is fogged, the gauge may be bad and need replacing.
