PHTA
PHTA is the Pool and Hot Tub Alliance, a US trade group that sets industry standards.
PHTA writes and supports standards for pools and spas, and it runs the CPO course. Its ANSI standards cover topics such as water quality, safety, and service practices.
Owners rarely deal with PHTA directly. But its standards guide many pool pros and manufacturers. When you see an ANSI/PHTA standard cited, it is describing a common industry baseline. It also helps to ask if your tech follows these standards. Ask a provider which standards it follows when you compare plans, and whether staff took PHTA courses.
