CPO certification
CPO certification is the Certified Pool Operator credential from the Pool and Hot Tub Alliance.
The CPO course teaches water chemistry, filtration, safety, and pool operation. Many pool pros hold it. It shows training but does not guarantee skill on every job.
It is fair to ask a provider whether staff hold CPO. Also ask about experience and insurance. Marina Pool Services does not state that it holds CPO certification. Judge a pro on training, references, and clear communication. Courses refresh every few years, so ask when a tech last renewed.
