Valve actuator
A valve actuator is a small motor on a pool valve that lets an automation system turn the valve for you.
Actuators let a control panel or phone app switch water flow, such as between the pool and the spa, or to a water feature. They replace the manual handle turn.
Signs of trouble: a valve that does not move, stops halfway, or clicks without turning. Causes include a worn motor, a stuck valve, or a wiring fault. Sun and heat in North Texas are hard on the plastic housings over time. Ask a pro to test the actuator and the valve together. See how pool automation ties these parts together.
