Suction-side cleaner

A suction-side cleaner hooks to the skimmer or a dedicated suction port. It uses the pump's pull to move and pick up dirt. Debris goes to your filter and baskets.

It is low cost and simple, with few parts. The downside is that it takes pump flow, which can reduce skimming and put more dirt on the pump basket and filter. Check for hose cracks and worn parts if it stalls. It works best with a clean basket and steady flow. Check for an air leak if it moves poorly.
