Pool closing
Pool closing is shutting a pool down for a season. Many North Texas owners keep their pools running instead.
A full closing lowers the water, drains the equipment, balances the chemistry, and covers the pool. This is common where winters are long.
In North Texas, a closed pool still collects debris and can grow algae. A closed pool also loses the protection of moving water in a freeze. Most owners keep the pump on a schedule and use freeze protection. If you plan a long break, talk with a pro about a plan that fits your pool.
