Winterization
Winterization is the work of preparing a pool and its equipment so they survive freezing weather.
In cold regions, winterization means closing a pool for the season. In North Texas, most owners keep pools running, so winterization is mostly freeze protection. It covers the pump, filter, heater, and exposed pipes.
Typical steps are testing the freeze sensor, setting the controller, checking for leaks, and knowing how to drain equipment. Do this before the first cold snap. Marina Pool Services offers Freeze Guard and winterization. Write the steps down so anyone at home can follow them if you are away.
