Pollen season
Pollen season is the spring and fall time when tree pollen coats pool water and clogs filters.
Oak, cedar, and other trees release pollen in waves. A yellow film shows on the water, and the filter loads faster than usual.
Skim often, empty baskets, and clean the filter sooner than normal. Pollen feeds algae, so keep chlorine at the right level. A clarifier may help the filter catch fine dust, if the label fits your pool. Rinse or clean the filter media when pressure rises. Plan for more cleaning in the weeks when trees bloom.
