Skimmer
The skimmer is the opening in the pool wall that pulls surface water and debris into the system.
The skimmer is where the pool pulls in water from the top. It carries floating leaves, oils, and dust to the filter. Good skimming helps keep the surface clean and the water clear.
The water level should sit about halfway up the skimmer opening. If it is too low, the pump pulls air and may lose prime. If it is too high, the flap cannot work. Keep the basket clean. A cracked skimmer or an air leak at the skimmer can cause bubbles. See air leak.
