Priming
Priming is filling the pump with water so it can start pulling.
A pump cannot move water if it is full of air. Priming means getting water into the pump housing. A pump that runs but never fills the basket has lost prime.
Common causes are a low water level, a full basket, a dry or cracked lid O-ring, or an air leak in the suction line. Turn off power, fill the basket with water, close the lid tight, and restart. Do not run a dry pump for long, since it can burn the seal. If it will not prime, call a pro.
