Pressure test

A pressure test checks pool plumbing lines for leaks by filling them with pressure and watching for a drop.

A tech plugs each line, adds pressure, and watches the gauge. A line that cannot hold pressure has a leak somewhere along its run.

This is a tool for finding hidden leaks in buried pipes, not a routine task. It takes the right plugs and gauges. Misuse can burst a pipe or hurt someone. If you suspect a plumbing leak, start with the bucket test, then call a pro who does leak detection.
