Partial drain and refill
A partial drain and refill replaces some of the pool water to lower cyanuric acid, calcium, or salt.
Draining part of the pool is the only way to lower stabilizer, calcium, or salt once they climb too high. You remove some water, refill with fresh water, and retest.
Do not drain a plaster or fiberglass pool too far. High groundwater or empty shells can damage a pool, so ask a pro before lowering the level far. Use a pump or hose to drain where the city allows. Check local rules for where discharge can go. After you refill, rebalance pH, alkalinity, and chlorine.
