Fiberglass pool

A fiberglass pool is a pool made from a one-piece molded fiberglass shell set into the ground.

Fiberglass shells arrive from the factory ready to install. The gel coat finish is smooth and non-porous, so algae has a harder time clinging to it.

Fiberglass is not maintenance free. It still needs balanced water, since low pH or very high calcium can damage the gel coat over time. Use soft brushes. Avoid harsh cleaners or acid washes unless the maker says it is safe. Check the manufacturer's care guide for your shell.
