Booster pump

A booster pump gives a pressure-side cleaner the extra push it needs. It takes water from the return line and boosts the pressure, and it has its own motor and a separate power circuit.

It needs a clean basket and a hose without kinks. A humming booster that does not move may need a new capacitor or seal, like a main pump. It also needs its own power, so wiring work belongs to a qualified pro. Run it only when the cleaner runs, to save power.
