Automatic water leveler

An automatic water leveler is a device that adds fresh water to the pool when the level drops too low.

Levelers use a float or sensor to top off water lost to evaporation, splash-out, and backwashing. In the Texas summer, they can save you daily trips to the hose.

They can also hide a leak. If the leveler runs more than you expect, the pool may be losing water through a crack or pipe. Watch your water bill. Also check local water restrictions, since some cities limit outdoor water use and filling. Keep an eye on the leveler's valve, because a stuck valve can overfill the pool.
