Lab water test
A lab water test is a full water analysis from a pool store or a service company.
A lab test checks more than a home kit. It can include metals, phosphates, dissolved solids, and cyanuric acid. It helps when the water is cloudy, stained, or green and home tests do not explain why.
Bring a fresh sample from elbow depth, away from the skimmer and returns. Use a clean bottle and test it within an hour or two. Ask for printed results, then adjust one thing at a time. Do this at least at the start and end of swim season.
