Hail

Hail is falling ice stones that can damage pool covers, lights, and equipment housings.

Hail can crack plastic housings, dent heater panels, tear covers, and chip tile or lights.

After a hail storm, check the equipment pad for cracks, leaks, or dents. Look at the light lenses, skimmer lids, and any cover. Skim out ice and debris. Test water after the storm, since runoff and debris change chemistry. Document damage with photos in case you file an insurance claim. Hail can also pit soft covers, so look them over before the next storm.
