Freeze
A freeze is air temperature at or below 32 degrees Fahrenheit, the point where water turns to ice.
North Texas sees short freezes most winters. A brief dip rarely hurts a pool, because large water bodies cool slowly. The risk is to the equipment, since small pipes, pumps, and filters hold less water and freeze first.
When a freeze is forecast, keep the pump running if your system is set up for it, and check your freeze protection. Unprotected water in pipes can freeze and crack them. See Freeze Guard for how equipment protection works.
