Equipment warranty
An equipment warranty is the maker's promise to cover defects for a set time.
Warranties cover parts that fail from defects, usually not damage from misuse, power surges, freeze, or poor chemistry. Terms differ by maker and model. Many need proper installation and registration.
Keep your receipts, model numbers, and install date. Read the warranty to see whether it covers labor or only parts. Ask the installer how they handle warranty claims. A late claim can be denied, so act when you first see a problem.
