# Grapevine Public Pools: Dove Waterpark and The REC Guide

Grapevine runs Dove Waterpark, Pleasant Glade Pool and Parr Sprayground, and The REC Aquatic Center, which is indoors and needs a REC membership. Dove Waterpark was closed for the 2026 season. Hours and fees change each year, so check the city pages before you go.

Grapevine residents have several places to swim outside their own backyards. This guide covers the city’s public options as listed on the Grapevine Parks and Recreation site (GoGrapevine), as of October 2026. Hours, fees and dates change from year to year. Treat this post as a map and use the linked city pages for the details. Where a figure came from a city page, the post says so.

## Is Dove Waterpark open?

Not right now. The Dove Waterpark page said “CLOSED for the 2026 season” and “See you next summer.” Season dates for 2027 were not posted when we checked.

The page describes lifeguards, a concession stand and a rule that all flotation devices be U.S. Coast Guard approved. It lists a phone number: 817-410-3088.

The page showed these hours for the season. The 2026 monthly calendars on the page are images, so use the page itself for exact dates.

Day

Hours on the page

Monday to Thursday

11:00 am to 9:00 pm

Friday to Sunday

11:00 am to 7:00 pm

Holidays

Daily admission was listed as $3 for residents and $8 for non-residents. Season passes were listed as $55 (resident) and $110 (non-resident) for an individual, and $110 and $220 for a family of up to six. Children under 12 months were free. These figures are as of October 2026 and may change.

## What is The REC Aquatic Center?

It is an indoor aquatic center at The REC of Grapevine. The city page lists four lap lanes, a current channel, floatables, a hot tub, a dry sauna, two tower slides, two basketball goals and a play structure for young children. You must be a member of The REC to use it.

The REC posts two schedules, one for days when Grapevine-Colleyville ISD is in school and one for days it is out. Both are images on the page, so read the schedule for the day you plan to go. The city also posts closures. As of October 2026 the page listed:

- October 23, 2026: Aquatic Halloween event, pool closes at 12:00 pm.
- November 26, 2026: Thanksgiving, The REC closed.
- Several school-holiday dates in November with later start times.

The page also says the sauna closes at 3:00 pm on the first Friday of each month.

## When does The REC close for lightning?

The REC Aquatic Center closes when lightning is within 5 miles of the facility. It reopens 30 minutes after the last strike. The city links a live lightning map from its page.

## What does this mean for a home pool?

Public pools close for the season, and the city listed Dove Waterpark as closed for 2026. A home pool does not close. Your own water still needs steady care when the city pools are shut. Weekly attention keeps water clear through the long North Texas swim season. See our [North Texas pool calendar](https://marinapool.multisites.ai/guides/north-texas-pool-calendar) and the [swim season](https://marinapool.multisites.ai/glossary/swim-season) glossary entry.

A public pool also shows what good water looks like. Clear water, steady [free chlorine](https://marinapool.multisites.ai/glossary/free-chlorine) and a clean deck come from daily checks. A home pool gets a weekly check from a service. Marina’s weekly pool service covers [water balance](https://marinapool.multisites.ai/glossary/water-balance), baskets, filter backwashing as needed, and vacuuming and brushing as needed. Learn more on the [weekly pool service page](https://marinapool.multisites.ai/pool-service-grapevine-tx) or the [Grapevine area page](https://marinapool.multisites.ai/service-areas/pool-repair-grapevine-tx).

If you are deciding between a public pool and a private pool, see our [pool owner’s handbook](https://marinapool.multisites.ai/guides/pool-owners-handbook-north-texas).
