# Euless Drought Stages Explained for Pool Owners

Euless follows the combined Tarrant Regional Water District reservoir level. Above 75 percent there are no restrictions. Stage 3, below 45 percent, prohibits draining and refilling pools. On October 21, 2026, the city page showed 81 percent. Rules and levels change, so check the city page.

Euless links its drought stages to the combined water level in the Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD) reservoir system. Above 75 percent, there are no restrictions. Below 45 percent, Stage 3 prohibits draining and refilling pools. On October 21, 2026, the city page showed 81 percent.

## What sets Euless’s drought stage?

The city says watering restrictions depend on the combined supply in the TRWD reservoir system. TRWD’s lakes, including Cedar Creek Reservoir and Richland Chambers Reservoir, supply 98 percent of all drinking water to Tarrant County residents and businesses, according to the city.

Rain on one day does not end a stage. If the reservoirs do not have ample supply to meet demand, usage must be restricted. The city page shows a graphic of the current level and the stage Euless is observing.

## What are the stages, and what do they mean for a pool?

Stage

Trigger

What the city says

No restrictions

Above 75%

Strongly encouraged to conserve, especially outdoors

Stage 1: Water Watch

Below 75%

Landscape watering limited to two days a week. No hosing paved areas or buildings. No runoff

Stage 2: Water Warning

Below 60%

Watering once a week. No dust control use. No ornamental fountains or ponds, except to support aquatic life

Stage 3: Water Emergency

Below 45%

No irrigation except foundations and trees for limited periods. Draining and refilling pools is prohibited

Only Stage 3 names pools on the Euless page. Stages 1 and 2 do not list a pool rule there. A city rule can change, so ask the city before a big fill.

## What is the level right now?

As of October 21, 2026, the Euless page showed 81 percent. That is above the 75 percent line, so the page’s no-restriction rule applies. The number moves with weather and demand. Open the [Euless water and wastewater page](https://www.eulesstx.gov/departments/public-works-and-engineering/water-and-wastewater) for the current figure.

## Does TRWD have its own pool rule?

Yes, for Stage 3. TRWD’s drought plan summary lists “Permitting of private swimming pools is prohibited” under Stage 3. TRWD says Stage 3 is activated when total supply reaches 45 percent capacity or another system emergency occurs. This is about new permits. It is not a rule on topping off an existing pool.

TRWD also lists its Stage 1 as most commonly activated at 75 percent and Stage 2 at 60 percent. Those match the Euless triggers. See the [TRWD drought plan actions](https://savetarrantwater.com/drought/).

## How should a Euless pool owner plan around the stages?

[Water restrictions](https://marinapool.multisites.ai/glossary/water-restrictions) and [drought](https://marinapool.multisites.ai/glossary/drought) rarely arrive without warning. A plan helps you avoid a rushed drain.

1. Check the Euless page before you drain or refill.
2. Test your water first. Our [pool water chemistry chart](https://marinapool.multisites.ai/guides/pool-water-chemistry-chart) lists the readings.
3. Fix the cause of a low level. A fast drop may be a leak, and our [bucket test guide](https://marinapool.multisites.ai/guides/pool-leak-bucket-test) can help.
4. Avoid a large [partial drain and refill](https://marinapool.multisites.ai/glossary/partial-drain-and-refill) when levels are falling.
5. Keep equipment running. A pool with low water can let a pump run dry. See pool pump repair.

[Evaporation](https://marinapool.multisites.ai/glossary/evaporation-loss) is the normal loss on a hot week.

## Does Stage 1 change how I clean my pool deck?

Stage 1 prohibits using water to hose paved areas and buildings, or using water in a way that allows runoff. A pool deck is a paved area, so ask the city before you hose one down once the level falls below 75 percent. Sweeping uses no water. Also keep the hose out of the street, since runoff is part of the Stage 1 rule.

## Where does Euless get its water?

The city says its primary source is the Trinity River Authority. That water comes from Cedar Creek Reservoir and Richland Chambers Reservoir in east Texas, pumped to Lake Arlington. The secondary source is city wells that tap the Trinity Aquifer. The city lists no hardness figure on that page, so use a pool test for your own readings.

## Frequently asked questions

### Are there water restrictions in Euless right now?

The city page says there are no restrictions when the combined reservoir system is above 75 percent. The page showed 81 percent on October 21, 2026. Levels change, so check the Euless water and wastewater page for the current number before you plan a refill.

### Can I refill my pool in Euless during Stage 3?

No. The city says Stage 3 prohibits draining and refilling pools. Stage 3 starts when the combined reservoir level falls below 45 percent. The page does not describe a top-off exception for Euless. Call the city at 817-685-1580, the water number on the page, if you are unsure.

### Why do restrictions continue after it rains?

The city says restrictions depend on the combined supply in the Tarrant Regional Water District reservoir system, not on one rainfall. If the reservoirs lack ample supply to meet demand, usage must be restricted to protect drinking water resources.

### Where does Euless get its water?

The city says its primary source is the Trinity River Authority, from Cedar Creek Reservoir and Richland Chambers Reservoir, pumped to Lake Arlington. The secondary source is city wells that tap the Trinity Aquifer. The city page lists no hardness figure.
