# Wind debris

Wind debris is the leaves, dust, and trash that strong winds blow into the pool.

North Texas storms and spring winds blow leaves, grass, dust, and trash into the water. Debris sinks, rots, and feeds algae. It also uses up chlorine.

Skim the surface and empty baskets after windy days. Vacuum the floor if debris sank. Check the pump basket and the skimmer after a big gust. Letting leaves sit raises the chance of stains and algae. A pool with a good skimmer flow catches more of it before it sinks.
