Equipment

# Two-speed pump

A two-speed pump has a high speed and a low speed setting.

A two-speed pump runs on low for daily filtering and on high for cleaning or heating. Low speed uses much less power than high, so it saves money over a single-speed pump.

It costs less than a variable-speed pump but offers fewer choices. Low speed may be too weak for some cleaners, heaters, or salt systems, so check your equipment manuals. Wear shows up as noise, loss of power, or failure to switch speeds. Have a pro look at it before the motor burns out.
